On Your Mobile Device - Turning Off Closed Captions (CC) in Zoom
This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to disable Closed Captions (CC) within the Zoom mobile application. Please note that these instructions are specific to the mobile version of Zoom and may differ from the Zoom desktop application.
Turning off Closed Captions will only affect the current meeting, and you will need to repeat these steps for each subsequent meeting or webinar you join.
Steps to Turn off CCs
Open Zoom and Join the Session:
Launch the Zoom app on your mobile device and join the meeting or webinar you wish to participate in.
Access Meeting Controls:
Once you are in the session, locate the meeting controls (typically found at the bottom of your Zoom window).
Find the CC/Captions Option:
Slide the menu bar to the left until you see either "CC" or the word "Captions."
You may have to select the “More” option to view the “Captions” settings.
Tap on the "Captions" button.
Toggle captions on or off:
Toggle the "Show Captions" option to the off position.
Disabling Closed Captions on your mobile device will only apply to the current Zoom session. You will need to repeat these steps for future Zoom meetings or webinars.
